Ashley-Nicole Russell, Managing Partner of Michael and Russell, PLLC and founder of AN|R Law, has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States — one of the highest professional distinctions an attorney can achieve.
Russell was one of a select group of attorneys from across the country invited by the American Bar Association to travel to Washington, D.C. for the Supreme Court Bar Admissions Ceremony, where she was presented before all nine Justices of the United States Supreme Court as part of the formal admissions proceedings. She was one of only two attorneys from North Carolina participating in the ceremony, representing the state during this prestigious event.
Admission to the Supreme Court Bar authorizes qualified attorneys to practice before the nation's highest court and reflects a distinguished level of professional achievement, experience, and commitment to the legal profession.
As part of the program, Russell met nationally recognized Supreme Court scholar Stephen Vladeck, who shared his insights into the Court's role, constitutional law, and the issues currently shaping the legal profession.
As an added honor, Chief Justice John Roberts hosted Russell and representatives from other states at a breakfast within the Supreme Court. Following the breakfast and a welcome from the Chief Justice, Russell was formally admitted before all nine Justices of the Court.
As a member of the Supreme Court Bar, she now holds lifelong privileges, including access to the Supreme Court Library and eligibility to obtain seats in the Court's gallery to observe proceedings.
